Brent Smart, CMO of IAG Australia, joined us to share how creativity transformed an insurance brand from beige to brilliant. It’s the origin story of the 2021 Grand Effie win - recognising the work as the most effective marketing in Australia.
Brent is responsible for leading an impressive portfolio of brands including NRMA, CGU and Rollin. And as if that wasn’t enough - he’s now the co-host of a great new marketing podcast ‘Black T-Shirts’.
Before joining IAG Brent spent 20 years in the advertising industry in Australia, New Zealand and the USA. He was CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi New York and closer to home, ran Colenso BBDO in Auckland. Over the years he has led a huge body of creatively driven work and has an impressive trophy cabinet with lots of Cannes Lions and Effies to show for it. But more importantly, that creative leadership has driven exceptional commercial outcomes.
